This term, we are learning about the human body. we made skeletons and we learnt different bones in our body. We have been playing games about the human body adn they were really fun. This week, we are learning about all the muscles in our body. We have learnt some kinds of muscles, but we will learn more about it over the next few days.
2009 senior school camp
On the 4th of August, the seinior school went to Forest Lodge Farm. It went for 4days, in between these days, we did many fun things, like flying fox, canoening, gaint swing, archery, hut building, rope course, walk on squeaky beach, went to Tidal River, telent show, movie, camp fire, night walk, toliet paper fashion show and much much more!!!!
Let me start talking about it:
On the first day, we did hut building and rope course. When we were up to the hut building, I was with Mary, Kelly, Vicky, Joyce and Xiu-Lin. We were all building a hut out of wood and bark, and we were trying to make it water proof. Then the teachers will pour a bucket of cow wee on top of it to see if it was water proof or not. Our one was not water proof and we got all wet and all drinched with cow wee..... eew! After that, we did rope course. I was with mary and Bhavana. We had to go across the different types of rope course with out touching the ground. There are many groups and they were really good at it. When it was my turn, I was doing very well untill........... CRUSH!!!!! I fell onto the mud and banged my head on the log.....ouch!!!! That really hurt!!!!
After that, we went inside and had afternoon tea. Then at 6 o'clock, we had dinner, our dinner was tasty, we had chicken with corn and peas and rice, tasty!!!!!! At 9 o'clock, we had supper. There was a little bit of cake and a small cup of milo to drink. Then we brushed our teeth and went to bed. That very night...........Joyce snored and we DIDN'T go to sleep!!!! But we still had a great day!!!!
The next day, we did some more activities, like the gaint swing, flying fox, canoing and archery. We all split up into different groups and we all did different activities. My group did canoe first. The instructor told us some safety rules and how to not flip the boat. in my boat, there was Tristan, we all rowed arond the little island a few times, then we played gang up tiggy, and Tristan and I was it. We counted to 30 and we rushed to get people in their boats. We rowed our hardest to get people and after a while, we got everyone! After that, we did piano, it is when all the boats join together and hold on to each boat, the person on the coners take turns to walk.
Holiday is over, how fast, is now
Term 3
This term we are learning about energy. These few weeks, we have been learning about chemical energy and we made gluey goop. Gluey goop is made out of glue and borax laudry powder. We got into groups and my group has three people in it. when we finished making it, we shared it between our group. we each got a little bit of the goop and we kept them. My goop went all dry and it feels very hard.
Term 2
How exciting! Only three more days till the term 2 holidays begins! this term, i'm taking our class pet Nacho( the guinea pig) home! i wonder what i might do? give me some ideas!
well, the production is done, finaly! we've been working on it so hard and it turned out so good! Well done everybody!
Also this term, we are doing a play called"The Blue Mermaid" Our whole school is in it, and my part is a crowed person, I don't have much to say, but I'm happy about it. We are performing it at Rowville Seconary College. It's going to be cool! Every class is performing a song or a dance during the play. We have been practicing alot these days just to get it right!
Winterschool sports:
Hooray! we finaly won our netball games at school! Last Friday, we had winterschool sports and were versing Wavley Meadows. Our school won all the games! It is: Netball both teams, soccer and t-ball both teams! isn't that a wonderful job for our school! Our school isn't good at sports and a mericle all of our teams won! What an exciting news for all of the rest of our school students and teachers! we also have games every Friday, so wish us luck!!!! Hooray once more!
This week, we got two new fishes for our tank at school. Our teacher said it'a ping pong fish, and it's donated by our school's student. The reason they have donated the fish to us is because their fish tank is too small for their fish to swim in. so they donated to us. The big fish's name is buble and the small one is called squeak. They are really cute, and hope they get along well with our little fish.
In term 2, we are learning about water, and how to save water.
Here are someways to save water:1. Take a 4mins shower.
2. Have a water tank in your backyard to collect rain water, so you can water your garden with rain water.
3.Wash your clothes in cold water, it saves engergy.
4.water your toliet with recycle water.
5.Don't have a swimming pool at your house.
6. turn the tape off when you are brushing your teeth, or washing your face.
Water can be more important to us in a few years time. The world have less water and it's not enough to feed everyone in the future. that's why everyone have to save water today and now. There's many ways that you can save water and save lives. Many countries have very poor water today, and many of us is wasting water. We can buy a water tank for our houses and save water now, you will realise how important water is after a few years, some water tanks are really expensive, but think about it again, if we save water today, and the water will not be wasted when they don't need to be. rain is very important to Australia people at this stage. save water by a water tank. It can collect rain water and water your garden with rain water, insteed of useing clean water when the clean water can be used in another more important places. So save water with me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've made many friends at school, and we are all like this picture, do you have many friends? I have the friends that cares about me, and help me when I need them, so they are really good friends.
Easter is coming soon, I can't wait till Easter. Even I don't like chocolate, but I still like to have a chocolate hunt, and gather all the chocolate together. Then, I can play a game with it. Next week, it's the last week in the term, and then after, it's.......HOLIDAY! I love holidays. I wonder what I'm going to do this holiday. I'm in grade 6 this year, and this is my last term 1 holiday in primary school. I have to really think about what I'm going to do, and use my time wisely.
On the 20th of March 2009, we had the round robin, I was in the Volleyball Mixed team. we went to wesley college to play our games. It was unbelieveable that we won all our games! 3 in a Row! it's so exciting to hear the news! now all we have to come first out of 6 schools is our final game versing one other school! wish us luck on the day! I had a lot of fun!
On March the 6th, a visiter called Murrindindi came to our school and talked to us about what he's been through, and his experence as a child. He told us about his culture and how they live in the past. He's now the leader of his tribe, and he will choose the next leader of the tribe when he die, so he said that he will live to 100, so he could be the leader for a long time. As a child, and he is an aboriginal person, at school, other kids tease him about his skin color and his culture. Every child born as aboriginals, they can't speak, write or read english, and no one offered to teach him, he got married, and his wife's parents, teased Murrindindi as well, then his wife started as well. he went to find a better life. then he met a gril, and got married the second time, and his wife tought him how to speak, write, and even read english, and Murrindindi had a better life after. He also told us that he's been through racicum for 40 years, and happyed for only 23 years. I felt sorry for him, and nower days, the government cares more about aboriginals, but still, some people still tease aborigianl people about their skin color, and their culture. I wish, one day, it will all stop.
last week and this week, our school has been to swimming. We went to a swimming pool and we learnt swimming. I was in green group, and we had to do freestyle, backstroke, dolphin kick, butterfly, survival freestyle, survival backstroke, breathstoke and swimmig underwater. We also had two safty lessons witch teaches us how to save people when there's an emergency.
We had 8 lessons in total, and I had a lots of fun. At the last day for swimming, we went to the wave pool to have a merible time. We played many games there, we played octopus, tunnal ball, scarecrow tigi, and last but not least......WAVES! WE WANT WAVES! WE WANT WAVES!
That time was fun!
